Yesterday was my first day back on the track doing any type of running. Ran a hurdle workout with virtually no pain with the broken toe. This is very promising and hopefully means I'm good to go. I meet with the Dr. again tonight for full clearance. I'm certainly happy with how quickly it healed and now Italy comes back into the equation. Once we finish this week of training, Scott and I will sit down and plan out my competition schedule.
I'm getting 8 new vault poles thanks to on my friends I met while living in CA. Dean Starkey was a bronze medalist in the '97 World Championships in Athens and has a pr of 5.92m (over 19' 5"). Anyway, he retired a few years ago and had some poles laying around that he was gracious enough to pack up and loan to me. They are all pretty big 5.0m poles that should help me out quite a bit as I continue to learn and improve my takeoff.
That's all for now.....
