Most of you who have been following me for awhile certainly know by now who Doc Draeger is. His dedication to the health of US decathletes is unmatched. You've heard me talk of his state of the art Gold Medal Motion facility tucked away in little Antigo, Wisconsin. He has grown so passionate about the decathlon and been so selfless in donating his resources and time to help struggling decathletes. Doc has worked on a number of us throughout the past 4 years. He traveled to Athens in 2004 with us to care for Tom Pappas and Paul Terek (members of WGA at the time). He's been to many of our hometowns whether to show support at a golf tournament or for emergency treatment. He's been to 4 of the past 5 US Championships including 2 Olympic Trials and extends year-round open invitations to us for treatment and/or relaxation at his home and facility. All this being said, I will be traveling to Beijing with Doc, his wife Reva and son Grant. I'll be his "media" guy, taking photographs, conducting a few interviews and writing some stories on his impact on the decathlon in the US. Our travel is all set for August 14-23 and we will be in the Olympic Stadium to watch the decathlon on August 21-22. I am looking forward to this opportunity to travel and experience the Olympic Games for a second consecutive time. Look for much more frequent updates as the games approach.
